I am reviewing the Adidas Response Wrestling Ear guard. I bought the Adidas headgear to see how it compares to Cliff Keen. Here is my unbiased review.

This head gear is made of a hard plastic shell that does a great job of protecting a wrestler’s ears. It is covered with a soft foam that easily absorbs shocks. It has fully adjustable straps as well a soft chin cup.

What I like

It protects the ears very well. It has a comfortable fit and includes the strap holder with the earguard.

What I Dislike

It is difficult to adjust. I’m not sure why, but my son and I had a difficult time adjusting the straps.

My son said that the chin cup was uncomfortable to use. He said he preferred a padded chin strap instead of a chin cup. It would be nice if Adidas included both and let the wrestler choose which one is more comfortable.

My Opinion

This is a good product and does and excellent job of protecting the ears. My son said he could wear it, but he preferred Cliff Keen . Maybe it is just a matter of preference. I’ve talked to other wrestlers who swear by this ear guard.

The price is similar to the Cliff Keen headgear. The chin cup can be a distraction for some wrestlers.
